A commitment to putting the client first is one of the shared values at the heart of a highly successful working relationship between the law firm Meadows Fraser LLP and Weybridge accountancy firm TWP Accounting LLP. The two firms first met up in 2005 as part of a mutual move to build new relationships with other local professional practices. TWP managing partner Philip Munk says: “We introduced ourselves to each other and recognised very quickly that we could work together. |
“Meadows Fraser have the same core values in terms of the way they look after their clients as we do. Unlike some other legal firms, they are very much client-focused, while remaining commercially-minded.”
Since that initial meeting, TWP has referred a number of clients to Meadows Fraser, which has advised on a range of company commercial transactions and provided services including dealing with the legal aspects of trust work and pursuing rent arrears for commercial landlords.
Both firms also carry out work directly for each other. When TWP restructured as a limited liability partnership, Meadows Fraser dealt with the membership agreements and the legal structure, while TWP prepares Meadows Fraser’s annual accounts and tax returns.
Philip says: “From the start, it was clear that both firms were on the same wavelength and the relationship we have developed has not only benefited our firms, but also our mutual clients.”
Piers Meadows of Meadows Fraser, said: “I always have confidence in referring clients to TWP; their expertise in identifying advantageous tax positions is unrivalled. They also provide advice on the optimal corporate structure for our clients and we have the added benefit of their office proximity to ours – our clients can literally just walk across the road to their offices from ours.”
